Governments
Colonial Commonwealth
Oldest of the governments, it was formed shortly after the collapse of the Colonial Authority. For half a century after the Disaster it simply tried to consolidate its hold on the Green Hills, the most heavily Terraformed surface on Mater. Aferwards it expanded to include the entirety of the Central Isle, extinguishing several new or nascent governments in the process (see: Bessarion Exodus).
Military
Commonwealth Combined Fleets
These are fleets with naval, air and occasional ground assets.
1st Fleet In charge of patrolling and securing the waters around and above the Central Isle, the 1st is a combined sea/air fleet. As its area of influence is so close to the center of the Commonwealth, many of the sons and daughters of wealthy families make sure to enlist here.
3rd Fleet The 3rd Fleet of the Commonwealth Navy is a combined force of sea-going vessels airships and some mechanized armor and soldiers. Formed to patrol the western corridor, the 3rd has been used in recent years as a dissident and rebellion suppression force, responding immediately to emergencies.
4th Fleet Decimated at the Perdition Incident, the 4th has yet to be reactivated. Originally consisting of a naval force with a small airship contingent, the remnants of the 4th have been folded into various other army groups.
6th Fleet In charge of the southern and eastern borders of the Commonwealth, the front-line nature of the 6th has led it to have the most combat experience of any fleet group.
7th Expeditionary Fleet Newly formed for the purpose of investigating potential assets in the Hyperion region, the Expeditionary fleet is the representative of Commonwealth law in the far south.
Commonwealth Naval Fleets
These are naval fleets with little air or ground assets.
1st Fleet Largest of the naval fleets of the Commonwealth, the 1st patrols the shores of the Central Isle.
2nd Fleet In charge of the Green Sea
